Every father has a dream in which his son gets a government job. But not everyone is destined to achieve what they dream of. Presently, students are engaged in extremely cut-throat competition for secure, permanent jobs, which provide security as well as a regular income. Many looks for the easiest way possible to reach there, mainly in the engineering field.
For students pursuing civil engineering, here is a piece of good news: Several of the competitive exams are completely based on the syllabus of civil engineering and that too in an objective pattern with multiple-choice questions. These exams provide an opportunity for a secure job under the government, and those too without descriptive answers are more comfortable and approachable for engineering students.
The benefit for students of civil engineering is that they, being academic students, can convert this knowledge into this examination. If they cover the syllabus while studying, they will stand a very good chance of clearing these exams without too much extra preparation. These exams can prove to be the golden opportunity to grab a secure and prosperous career in the public sector by Government of Civil Engineering.
1 GATE
The Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE) is a competitive test that is taken by aspirants for Post graduate courses like M Tech. GATE can also be used as an entrance to graduate programs in institutions such as the Indian Institutes of Technology (IIT’s), Indian Institute of Science (IISC) among other universities in India. It’s worthwhile mentioning that one can apply for recruitment attach to PSUs after one qualifies for GATE. GATE scores are employed for recruiting candidates for several Public Sector Undertakings including ONGC BHEL and GAIL offering candidates great job security as well as attractive remuneration in the government sector.
GATE is regarded has a National Examination and should be given by engineering graduate students who would like to advance their education. Because GATE has to be passed by postgraduate students willing to study engineering makes it very useful for people aiming to advance their engineering education. It is conducted by Indian Institute of Science (IISc) and IITs on a rotation basis with unknown institute hosting the examination every year.
The GATE examination is of 3 hours and is in the form of Computer Based Test (CBT). The paper has 65 questions which carry 100 marks in total. The question aims to evaluate and test the conceptual understanding and the problem-solving skills.
